Gary L. Avánt resides in San Diego, California. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he lived briefly in New England and Florida, and traveled throughout the United States before settling in San Diego in 1984. He has explored and exuded his artistic ability since about age 10, continuing his drawing throughout college, and expanding to photography, drawing, painting, and airbrush throughout his adult life. He studied art in college and subsequently in several academic institutions in California. He has traveled throughout most of the United States and Europe, visiting major and secondary museums and private collections – examining artwork and artists from multiple periods, learning from the Masters, and refining his craft.

His goal is twofold: 1) to create historic, beautiful, and unique art that inspires wonder and enjoyment and 2) to assist patrons and investors of his art in fulfilling their aesthetic and investment goals.
